VirginBlue first began flying on 31/August/2000. Initially offering flights between Sydney and Brisbane, VirginBlue airline now travels to all major cities and tourist destinations.
VirginBlue operates Boeing 737s, carrying between 144-180 passengers. Like Virgin Atlantic, they name their aircraft - the first was 'Brizzie Lizzie' as VirginBlue are based in Brisbane. You could be flying in 'Betty Blue','Smurfette' and 'Smoochy Maroochy' to name just a few.
Recently, VirginBlue did well in the Skytrax Airline of the Year 2004 Survey. VirginBlue was Voted the 'Best Low-Cost Airline Asia-Pacific'and took second place for 'Best Low-Cost Airline Worldwide'.
Pacific Blue was launched on 29/Jan/2004, flying the trans-Tasman route between Brisbane and Christchurch. Since then, they have expanded and now fly between Sydney,Brisbane and Melbourne to most major cities in New Zealand.
